Obituary John D. Baker Sr. 

John D. Baker Sr. of Avoca, In. formerly of Washington C.H., Ohio passed away March 2, 2018.
He was born February 28, 1933 to John F. and Ruth Renyolds Baker. He married Harriet Franklin on a Easter Sunday, April 13, 1952 in Greenville, SC where he was a member of the 121st TAC CON Hospital Unit in the USAF.
He was retired from Pennington Bakery and Carnegie Public Library.
John was inducted in the Ohio Senior Hall of Fame. He volunteered over 20 years on Meals on Wheels. He was a 58 year member of The First Baptist Church in Washington C.H.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, John D. Baker II, granddaughter, Alicia Baker, sister, Zona Boysel, sister-in-law, Marrietta Franklin and brother-in-law, Paul Franklin.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet Baker, son Carl (Nancy) Baker, daughter Jacqueline (Eddie) Cobb, grandchildren, April (Duane) Maynard, John D. Baker III, Samuel Baker, Zachary Baker and great-granddaughter Brittany Maynard, nephews James (Marla) Boysel, Ricky (Kim) Boysel, Mark Franklin and Glenn Franklin.
Graveside services will be held on June 8, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. in the Deercreek Twp. Cemetery in Lafayette, Ohio with Pastor Joe Current officiating.
