Mrs. Lois Ahl passed away peacefully September 18, 2019 at the Skilled Nursing Facility at Wyoming County Community Health System. Born in Nunda, on November 5, 1926 to Bertha and Jay Chasey, she lived most of her life in Warsaw and resided in Ocala, Florida for several years. Most recently she made her home under the loving care of The Cloisters Assisted Living Facility in Warsaw, New York.
Mrs. Ahl attended nursing school under The US World War II Nursing Corps Act and was a respected Registered Nurse, retiring from WCCHS after 35 years. She advanced her career while raising six children. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Lois was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Everett "Pete" Ahl and her daughter, Stefanie. She was married on January 1, 1949.
Survivors include her children, Susan (Dr. Warren) Griffith of Oakridge, Oregon; Sandra (Francis Phelps) Ahl of Batavia, New York; Sheila (Richard) Rice of Warsaw, New York; Bryan (Claudia) Ahl of Ocala, Florida; Becky (Christopher) Stone of Candor, New York and a devoted granddaughter, whom she raised, Tara (Patrick) Smith of Parma, New York. Also surviving are an additional ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being completed by Robinson and Hackemer Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours. A private ceremony will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Stafford Rural Cemetery.Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Nurse, Lover of nature. RIP
