Francis "Frank" Campisano was born in Louisville to Rosario and Theresa (Floro)Campisano, natives of Falerna, Italy. Following his mother's death in 1935, Frank and some of his siblings went to live at St. Joseph's Children's Home. While at St. Joe's, Frank was captain of the baseball team and a Boy Scout. He served in the Navy during WWII. He married Gladys Goldsmith in 1947. Frank worked in the wholesale produce business for many years, first as a partner in the old K & I Fruit Co., and later with his brothers, Al and Guy Campisano. He loved to hunt and fish and shared these passions with his sons. His life was cut short at the young age of 45 in 1971.
