Per the article "Time to reflect on the community" in the Citrus County Chronicle (Tuesday, January 8, 2019), Lucille Baklanoff taught 4th grade at the Crystal River Elementary School and "was instrumental in convincing the county of the need" for other libraries besides the small library in Crystal River. Every spring she and the author of the article (Ruth Levins) would travel to Tallahassee to lobby for funds, ultimately resulting in five new libraries for the county's residents.
