In late August 2016, we lost our beloved son, Scott Robert Adamson, who found his final resting place on the Baintha Brakk mountain (Ogre II) of Pakistan's Karakoram range pursuing his dreams and exploring the mountains he loved.

Scott was born on January 24, 1981, in Price, Utah, to Thomas C. and Kathleen Porcaro Adamson, who reside in Orem, Utah.

Scott grew up a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended public school in Ferron and Orem, Utah; Millcreek, Washington; and Beaverton, Oregon, and graduated from the Orem High School and LDS Seminary. He also attended Utah Valley University. Scott achieved the rank of Eagle Scout upon completing a project that collected donations for American Indian Services which were distributed to schools in Guatemala. He was a Certified First Responder.

An accomplished alpinist , Scott was part of a wonderful climbing community and traveled the world, including Central and South America, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, and Pakistan. He worked as a finish carpenter and in many associated trades. He enjoyed photography, painting, and ceramics. He loved the outdoors, especially the ocean, the mountains, and the desert.

Scott was a transformative power to his friends and climbing partners. His tenacious energy affected everyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed basking in the sun with a fine brewed cup of coffee and raging in the mountains doing feats that awed and inspired not only his peers, but the world. In the same breath, he was both pirate and hero, climber and unwavering friend. Scott was a handsome and kind individual. He was greatly respected and inspired others worldwide. Scott can be counted among his pioneer ancestors as one who blazed a trail for others to follow. His humor and smile will be missed.

The family wishes to express their deepest love and appreciation for those in the United States, Pakistan and other parts of the world who helped with the rescue attempt. Words cannot express the depth of gratitude for the many prayers on their behalf. Donations can be made to the Scott Adamson Rescue Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank, or directly to the family.

Memorial Service: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel at 1660 North 200 West in Orem, Utah.
