S. B. Burkham, a well known and respected citizen of Bodie, and proprietor of the Hawthorne and Bodie Stage line, died in San Francisco on the 13th instant of cancer, after a long illness. The remains were shipped to Bodie, where the funeral will take place Sunday. (Walker Lake Bulletin, 1/15/1904)
