Her father Edward Schnitzer (1894- December 1970) was originally from Mansfield, Ohio, and Jane was born in Mansfield, Ohio.

Her grandmother Mary loved her very much, from the moment she came home from the hospital as a baby.

She also had a half sister named Barbara.

Jane Schnitzer was the great-granddaughter of famous architect F.F. Schnitzer, who constructed many structures on the National Register of Historic Places.


F.F Schnitzer's own grandparents in Germany were royalty, owned a large estate of over 200 acres with an enormous center court in Bavaria, and were also related to the Holy Roman Emperor. F.F. Schnitzer's grandfather was also a privatier and highly decorated military general and cavalryman.


Jane's aunt Pauline Louise Schnitzer (big Pauline, daughter of F.F. Schnitzer) visited at this very large German estate with center court and drew sketches of it.
