He graduated from Hibbing High School and the University of North Dakota with a degree in chemical engineering. In 1958 Richard married Betty Godfrey. After working as an engineer in Hibbing, he founded B & R Engineering in 1975 and in 1981 he purchased Premier Products in Braham, Minn.
Richard was very active in his community. He served on the board of the University Medical Center-Mesabi from 1990 to 1997 and was chair in 1996-1997. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Hibbing Chamber of Commerce, and also served as a commissioner for the Hibbing Public Utilities for six years. At the time of his death, he was a board member for Security State Bank and was a trustee for the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Hibbing Elks Lodge, Algonquin Club, the Hibbing Curling Club and the Mesabi Country Club. Richard was also a proud member of the Memorial Building Morning Coffee Club. Richard was a kind, compassionate, and patient husband, father and grandfather.
Richard is survived by his wife, Betty; sons: Dr. Tom (Susie) Bugliosi, Jim (Marcy) Bugliosi, and John (Iris) Bugliosi; grandchildren: Sara, Andrew and Nicholas, Gina and Marcus and Nicole and Christopher Bugliosi; brother, Ray (Joanne) Bugliosi; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Bugliosi; sisters: Norma Flynn and Dahlia Diachok; and his brother, Rano Bugliosi.
