Yancey, 51, Gadsden, who died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001. Dr. Jerry Cobb
will officiate. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is
in charge.
Mrs. Yancey was an active member of Bellevue Baptist Church where she
had served in many capacities. She had attended Gadsden Sate, Jacksonville
State University and had a career as a court reporter and medical transcriber.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. She was preceded in death
by her father, G.N. Aldridge.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Roger Yancey; son, Clay
Yancey, Dallas, Texas; daughter, Laura Cornutt, Gadsden; son-in-law, Shane
Cornutt; mother, Mary Aldridge, Moulton; brother and sister-in-law, Jim
and Martha Aldridge, Florence; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sam and
Inez Yancey; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bebe and Sammy Andrews,
Sylacauga; six nieces and nephews; "chosen" sister, Shirley Robertson.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
