NORFOLK - Thomas Bateman Simpson, 72, of 3520 S. Warwick Circle, the husband of Mrs. Elsie Parker Simpson and a son of Thomas S. and Mrs. Lucindy Simpson, died in a hospital, Tuesday.

A native of Curritcuk, N.C., he lived here 50 years.

He was a Navy veteran of World War I and a member of Veteran of World War I Association Barracks 19.

He was retired from Norfolk Taxi Cab Co.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis C. Walker and Mrs. Billy D. Epperly of Norfolk a son, Thomas Simpson of Brooklyn; a sister, Mrs. Alice Wilson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Friday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. W. D. Morris of Spurgeon Memorial Baptist Church and the Rev. William B. Pittard Jr. of Fox Hall Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park.
