Mrs. Rose Billings Dineen, who for 14 years has resided in Santa Cruz died yesterday at a local hospital, following an illness of a week. Following her coming to Santa Cruz she took over the Clayton Hotel at Pacific avenue and Lincoln street and later the Menefee home, one of the old time attractive homes of this city, and for years she conducted an apartment house opposite the First Methodist church. During the time she has been there she made many improvements. Surviving besides the husband, Richard Dineen, are a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Ellingson, talented musician, and three granddaughers, Mrs. Dora Lester, Mrs. Elizabeth Averett and Janet Ellingson, all of Santa Cruz. A brother, the late George Billings, was known for his characterization of Abraham Lincoln and took part in one of the most famous motion pictures ever produced. Mrs. Dineen was 68 years old and was a native of Minnesota. Funeral services are to be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the chapel of the Wessendorf Mortuary.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Billings Dineen were held yesterday afternoon at the chapel of the Wesendorf Mortuary, and were conducted by Rev. Heber St. Clair Mahood of the First Congregational church. The hymns were played on the pipe organ by Mrs. Vera McKenna Clayton. Inurnment was at the Santa Cruz crematory.
