James was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He retired from Braun Corporation and had formerly worked at Eaton in shipping and receiving.
He married Sharon P. Delaney on February 15, 1992 in Winamac. She passed away on May 26, 2007.
Jim enjoyed refurbishing collectables. He was proud of his father’s antique tractor that he had restored and showed at the Power from the Past. Jim especially enjoyed mowing and snow-plowing for his neighborhood and family, whether he was asked to or not. He was a well-known patron at area restaurants. Jim was an avid Winamac Warrior sports fan and supporter of local youth.
James loved his family very much and will be sadly missed.
He is survived by one son; one daughter; one stepson; one stepdaughter; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; stepmother; two brothers; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his wife and parents, James was preceded in death by three brothers and his former wife, Elsie F. Toumine.
Visitation will be from 3-8 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN. Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac, IN. The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services.
