William Baldwin Shearon was born on January 31, 1873 in Starkville, Mississippi, the son of Dr Sterling Durham Shearin (1842–1882) and Mary E (Baldwin) Shearon (1843–1924).

He was married on October 19, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois to Lillian Nicholson (1877–1961), the daughter of James P Nicholson and Sadie (Posey) Nicholson.

Retired from the legal department of Nashville Chattanooga & Saint Louis Railroad and living at 109 29th Avenue South in Nashville, he was 72 years old and married when he died at home of a cerebral hemorrhage on July 24, 1945. Burial was two days later in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
