MARY ALICE HARMON

Private family services for Mary Alice Harmon were conducted in Green River.

Mrs. Harmon, 68, of 1830 South Carolina St., Green River, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 1990 at her home.

A resident of Green River for the past two years and former longtime resident of Eureka, Ill., Mrs. Harmon had been in ill health the past four months.

She was born in Peoria, Ill., Dec. 11, 1921, the daughter of George and Ameda Hogbin Waters. She attended schools in Peoria and was a graduate of the Manual Training High School with the class of 1940.

She married Everett Harmon in Havana, Ill., on Sept. 28, 1945 and he preceded her in death Dec. 12, 1977. Mrs. Harmon was a retired retail sales clerk. She was a member of the B’Hai [sic] Faith and the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 2350 Auxiliary. Mrs. Harmon was an avid doll collector and won many awards in poetry and crafts.

Survivors include her mother, Ameda Waters of Peoria; two sons, Harry Holler of Green Rivera nd Bill Harmon of McCleary, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. George (Christine) Johnson of Matteson, Ill., and Mrs. Bob (Charlene) Farr of Steger, Ill.; two brothers, George Waters and William Waters, both of Peoria; one sister, Harriett Colvin of Peoria; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Harmon was preceded in death by her father, one son, George Holler who died on Oct. 1, 1989 and one sister, Geraldine Waters.

Her body was taken to Salt Lake City for cremation.
