Sandra (Sandy) A. Peeks, loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away August 2, 2018, at the age of 80. She was born November 25, 1937, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Clarence and Helen (Jaros) Luchsinger.
She attended primary and secondary school in Crete, Nebraska, and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. She married Edmund C. Peeks June 12, 1960 (divorced in 1990), and they were blessed with five children. She taught for only a few years before raising her children full time. Sandy was also an animal lover having owned and rescued many dogs.
Sandra is survived by: sons, Brian (Jeanine) Peeks, Eric (Michelle) Peeks, Jason (Sarah) Peeks, Aaron (Jennifer) PeeksMease; daughter, Genelle (Mike) Parrish; grandchildren, Sarah, Laura, Madeline, Luke, Matthew, Emily, Isabella, Ethan, Gavin, Ralph, Ellie, and Josie.
Celebration of life service Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at First Lutheran Church in Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Dogs for Better Living (formerly Dogs for the Deaf) Interment at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
