Marita Louise Hahn, age 86, of Woodsboro, died Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born June 24, 1932 in Gainesville, TX, she was the daughter of the late A.C. Thomas and Louise Blake Thomas Stalnaker. She was the wife of Donald R. Hahn who died in 2011.

Rita attended the University of Texas, majoring in home economics. She was a member of the Woodsboro Evangelical Lutheran Church and a former member of the auxiliary of the Glen W. Eyler American Legion Post 8806 of Woodsboro. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, listening to classical and country music and spending time with her family. She was an avid reader, was artistic and painted in various mediums and loved animals, particularly her German Shepherds and Jack Russell terriers.

Surviving are daughters, Patricia Strine and husband Robert of McSherrystown, PA, Donna Lou Hahn and companion Jeff Scott of Frederick and Susan Hahn Sunday of Woodsboro; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Goldhammer and husband David, Donald Beard and wife Terri, Kimberly Palumbo and husband Kyle and Janet Sunday Kwiatkowski and husband Jason; 1 step grandson, Carl Strine and wife Tammy; 6 great grandchildren Cassandra and Anthony Goldhammer, Daulton and Cayden Beard, Lorenzo and Kallie Palumbo; 3 step great grandchldren, Adams Stevens, Evan and Collin Strine and 1 great great grandson, Owen Klinedinst. She was predeceased by a sister, Gayle Adams.

A celebration of Rita's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 6 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro, with Rev. Tim May, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Woodsboro.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4-6 p.m. Sunday, August 5.
