Obituary for Ernestine Bergstrom
Ernestine Charlotte "Tootie" Bergstrom, 87 passed away February 25, 2009 at Rainer Roost in Ranier Mn. She was born in Thayer, Missouri on January 4, 1922 to Charles and Arta (Hale) Fairchild. Her family moved to International Falls when Ernestine was a small child. She graduated from International Falls High School. Ernestine was united in marriage to Oscar Bergstrom on June 24, 1941 in Virginia, Mn. Oscar and Ernestine were blessed with 66 wonderful years together. Mom was very active at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Loman, then after moving to International Falls she became very involved in 1st Lutheran church activities. Mom enjoyed her trips to Hawaii and Grand Cayman Island. In her later years she enjoyed her second home in Bradenton and enjoyed visiting with all her snowbird friends. Mom was accomplished at crocheting, knitting, sewing an all kinds of crafts but she was "best" known for her Quilts.She was preceded in death by husband, Oscar Bergstrom and infant daughter, Karen Bergstrom, grandson, Daniel Miles, brothers Rodney, Charles and Ray Fairchild, sisters, Virginia Fairchild and Rachel Grover. Survivors include her children, Paul (Karen), Rod (Marilyn), Gail (Loren) Miles and Gary (Dena), grandchildren, Bradley (Lisa), Bruce (Betty), Brian (Tracy), Billy (Michele), Kristi (Randy) Splett, Darren (Niki), JoHannah Bergstrom, Julie (Chris) Lokker, David (Kim) Miles, Andrew (Raija) Bergstrom, Adam Bergstrom and Allison Bergstrom. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and a sister in law, Nina Clark of Washington.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Green-Larsen Mortuary from 5-7:00 pm.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at First Lutheran Church at 11:00 am.Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Loman, MN.
