A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. ESQUIRE G. NANCE BADLY INJURED WHILE GOING HOME.
He was Tarrant County's First Clerk and is Now Eighty-three Years of Age—It is Feared His Injuries May Result Fatally.
Mr. G. Nance, known to all as the "Squire", was seriously if not fatally injured last night while crossing Railroad avenue on the South Side. He was run over by someone driving a buggy, whose name could not be learned.
Squire Nance is 83 years old and very feeble and it being quite dark at thgis crossing he was evidently not seen by the driver of the buggy until too late.
Mr. Nance was conveyed to his home and found to be injured about the head and face and it is feared internally. On account of his advanced age, it is feared that he can scarcely survive.
Squire Nance was the first county clerk of this county when the county seat was at Birdville, and he continued in office for six consecutive terms. He is well and favorably known to all the old residents of the county who will grieve over the mishap which has befallen him. He registered only a few days ago for the coming primaries and was the oldest citizen on the books.
