Union Civil War Soldier. He served with the 10th Michigan Infantry, Companies C and I. Downer was mustered in as a Private on February 2, 1862. He died from disease at Camp Dennison in August of 1862 when he was 46 years old. His grave was removed from Waldschmidt Cemetery at Camp Dennison, Ohio to Spring Grove Cemetery on July 4, 1869. His grave marker reads as: T. B. Downer.
