Armenian musicologist and composer. Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR in 1938. Post Graduate of Arts in 1957. In the years 1907-1911 studied singing at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, in 1930 he graduated from the choral faculty of the Moscow Conservatory from class of A. V. Alexandrov. In the years 1939-1953 - Senior Research Fellow of the History and Music Theory Sector of the Academy of Sciences of the Armenian SSR. He wrote a number of songs, choirs, made the processing of folk songs. Literary works: "Armenian gusans and gusan-ashug art" published in Yerevan in 1959 in Armenian.
