Lucetta Helen "Lucy" Means Philpott was born August 23,1879 in Washington County, Missouri 7th child of John Bower Means and his first wife Mary Evelyn Polk.
Lucy died of cardiac arrest on November 22, 1971 and is buried in Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Tulsa County, Oklahoma.
Lucy married James Madison Philpott, born April 1874 in Iowa, died July 30, 1963 in Oklahoma, buried same cemetery. James was the son of Michael See Philpott and Rebecca Kinser Philpott. James and Lucy lived in Homestead, Blaine, Oklahoma in 1900, in Mayes, Center, Oklahoma in 1910, and in Osage, Bigheart, Oklahoma in 1930. They were the parents of:
1. Gladys N. Philpott, born Jan 1899 in Iowa and died January 13, 1986 in Oklahoma, buried in Park Grove Cemetery, Section F, Block 17, Lot 4, Space 1. Gladys married Virgil B. Pennington, born 8 July 1893 and died September 1985 He was the son of James M. and Eva M. Pennington.
Virgil was brother of Blanche, Eula, Archie and Dorothy.
Virgil and Gladys Pennington were owners of a grocery store in 1930. Their two children in 1930 were;
James Eugene and Eva Loucetta

2. John Emory Philpott, died October 1919, buried in Park Grove, cause of death, burns.(His name is spelled Emerie on his tombstone)

3. Burnice May Philpott b 1904, married Owen Lyman Heare.

4. Clarabell Philpott, married Robert Morrison.
