Mary Ann Bell 73, of Estero, FL died Friday, January 12, 2018 at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs. A former resident of Mitchell, South Dakota, she had resided in Estero since 1999. She was born November 20, 1944 in Belle Plaine, Iowa a daughter of the late Peter A. and Lillian J. (Switzer) Van De Walle.
Prior to moving to Mitchell, SD, Mary Ann worked as a property manager for the Angeles Corporation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community and was very active in the St. Vincent de Paul Society for the past 15 years.
She is survived by her loving husband, William E. Bell of Estero, FL; two sons, Robert G. Smith and his wife, Denise of Ely, Iowa and Nicholas E. Smith and his wife, Sarah of Iowa City, IA; four step children, Angela M. Guignon and her husband, Edward of Coppell, TX, Michael A. Bell and his wife, Leslie of Manhattan Beach, CA, Juliet A. Shedenhelm of Des Moines, IA and Thomas P. Bell of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Elaine K. McAndrews and her husband, Jim of North Fort Myers, FL and Jean M. Seaton of Clive, IA; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community 19680 Cypress View Dr., Ft. Myers, FL 33967. Burial will follow in the memorial garden. A reception for family and friends will immediately follow the burial in the Parish Life Center.
