He is the son of Ronald Edward and Paula Lee(Dunaway)Bales of Dyersburg.
Frank is survived by his sister, Mary (Troy) Day of Coldwater, MS. He is also survived by his grandparents, Jay & Joyce Dunaway of Halls, TN, grandmother, Olive Bales of Poplar Bluff, MO and uncle, Eugene McKay of Beebe, AR. Frank leaves a niece, Maggie Day and nephew, Harlan Day. He is survived by his cousins, Jason Jacques (Brennan Tolliver), Will Jacques, Shaun McKay, Kevin McKay, Robert McKay; special friend, Jadalyn Brown, to whom he was engaged; and life-long friends, Skyler Harrison and Shania Rogers.
Frank was preceded in death by grandmothers: Hazel Bales; Rowena Dunaway, grandfather; Franklin Bales, and aunts; Beth Haynes; Judy McKay.
The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, December 28 at First Baptist Church, Halls, TN with Rev. Booker Joe Nance officiating. Burial will follow in the Halls Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 27 from 5- 8pm at First Baptist Church, 102 E. Tigrett St. Halls, TN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the following: The American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Hospital of Memphis or a local humane society of the donor’s choice .

Franklin Bales was honored posthumously as an Outstanding Alumnus during Dyersburg State Community College's spring conference. Franklin wore the #33 jersey on the men's basketball team during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 academic years. He graduated from DSCC in 2015. He was an exemplary student on and off the court and they were honored to present this award to his family.
