John Lawrence Pierce
September 4, 1930 - November 27, 2017

John happily resided in Deltona, FL for the past 32 years and passed peacefully on November 27, 2017. He was originally from Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.

John held many successful positions in life, Teacher, General Motors in Oshawa, Ontario and Doraville, Georgia, and quite the Entrepreneur when he relocated his family to the Atlanta, Georgia area owning three businesses along with his Wife of almost 40 years, Lissy Marie Klitbo Pierce who preceded him on March 31, 1995 after a battle with breast cancer.

In retirement John became an adventurer going on more than 26 cruises, including several transcontinental cruises, which he enjoyed immensely especially after he met the second love of his life, Zoe Clement. They enjoyed life to the fullest traveling, ballroom dancing, exercising and socializing with friends. Zoe's Daughter Terri Bryant and Husband Chris Curry remained close to John after Zoe's passing.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Harold and Marjorie Pierce of Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

John was a beloved Father and Best Friend to two of his children, Sheila Pierce Beam of Duluth, Georgia and Barry Pierce of Murrayville, Georgia, Father-in-law to Pamela Pierce, and wonderful Grandfather to Charles Beam and Michael Beam.

His Brother Ronald Pierce and Wife Willa Pierce of Brantford, Ontario have been a constant source of friendship and love, as well as his cousin Cathy Merkley of Morrisburg, Ontario. Special Thanks to his Wife Lissy's Family for remaining steadfast, loyal and loving after her death. Carsten and Ghislaine Klitbo, Robert and Linda Hadley, Kelvin and Carolyn Klitbo, Hanne Klitbo Klein, and Tine Klitbo Klein Eriksson. John was loved by his nieces Colleen Neposlan, Catherine Pierce, Ingrid Klitbo, Elizabeth Klitbo Gamboa, Cynthia Klitbo, Suzanne Johnson, Nancy Watkins, Kirsten Hadley-Crane, Amandarose Klitbo and nephews Harold Pierce, Chris Klitbo, Edward Klitbo and Andrew Klitbo.

Life is not measured by the number of years you are here, but by the lives you touch with your friendship, love, time and concern. John L. Pierce certainly made a positive impact on many lives in his 87 years we were blessed to have him here.

The viewing will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 5:30-7:00pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, Florida 32763. Services to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00 am at Deltona Presbyterian Church, 2300 Howland Blvd., Deltona, FL 32738 with Pastor John McLaurin officiating followed by his burial at Deltona Memorial Gardens, 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL 32763.
