Sarah was a daughter of David Grigsby Rector and Matilda Cansada Wheeler Rector who married on 1-16-1886 in Carter Co., MO.

Funeral Held Monday For Mrs. W. F. Cowin

Funeral service was held here Monday for Mrs. Sarah Iva Cowin, 80, wife of W. F. (Bill) Cowin of Van Buren, who died unexpectedly at their home at 3:15 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Cowin was born Jan. 23rd, 1887, in the Clear Springs community in Carter County, and was a lifelong resident of this county.

On April 7th, 1909, she was married to William Cowin at Clear Springs. She was a member of the Clear Springs Methodist Church and had been a member of the Van Buren Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors are her husband, and six children, Elmer, Norman, Earl, Rector, Morgan, and Mrs. Ancil Sanders, 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the McSpadden Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tony R. Lewis of Ellington officiating. Grandsons and nephews were pallbearers.
