"Gilbert Clark, M. I. Employe, Passes Away
Was Member of National Guard, Eagles; Funeral Sunday Afternoon
A short illness, the last few days of which were suffered at the Victory Hospital, ended in death this morning for Gilbert Anthony Clark, 31, young Mare Island workman.
Surviving him here is his widow, Mrs. Elaine Clark and four minor children, who make their home at 1515 Brown street. He was the son of the late James Clarke, who drowned in the Napa river flood a number of years ago and Mrs. Anna Fields.
Clark was a popular member of L Company, Napa National Guard.
A native of Napa, Clarke worked for a time for the Napa Milling Company, before taking his recent position as a rigger's assistant at the navy yard. He was a member of the Napa Aerie of Eagles, who will assist at funeral services Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Treadway Chapel. The Rev. George Armstrong will officiate at the rites.
Interment will be in the Yountville cemetery."
