Fred married Florence Mantor and they had at least five children, Marge (Dockter), Dixie (Payne Jacobsen), Barbara (Ledesma), Cathy (Hamlin) and Frank Jr.
Fred worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard as a pipefitter and machinist for over twenty years. After retiring in 1956 he took a position as bailiff for the Solano County Superior Court and worked there for over ten years.
Fred was active in social groups being affiliated with the Sea Scouts, Masonic Lodge No. 87, and Ben Ali Temple.
