Justin was a native of Buncombe County, a son of Sally Duryea of Weaverville and Timothy W. Abell and his wife, Laura Boosinger of Asheville. He graduated with honors from Asheville High, class of 2000, and was an avid snowboarder, skateboarder, artist, and loved music. He was a dean's list student at Appalachian State University at the time of his death, which was the result of an automobile accident.
