He was a veteran of the Marines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Elizabeth Benton; and a brother, James D. Benton.
Survivors include his four sisters and his two brothers.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Funeral Home, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions can be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
