Patti was a pillar of the community but more importantly was a pillar of the churches she attended where she was a frequent volunteer, a long-time youth teacher of religious education classes as well as the head of multiple scripture study courses and book clubs enjoyed by many in Sherman, Denison and Horseshoe Bay, Texas.

Patti was a graduate of Newman Central Catholic High School in Sterling, Illinois in 1960.
