Mrs. Jeannette Acord Hyde of Salt Lake City, Utah, former Hawaii collector of customs, succumbed Saturday to a heart attack while attending the local L.D.S. church conference.

She was chairman of the women's Republican organization of Utah for 12 years and delegate at large to the Republican national convention of 1920. She was at one time a member of the board of regents of the University of Utah. Mrs. Hyde was one of the outstanding women political and civic leaders of Utah. She served eight years, from April 21, 1925, until the fall of 1933, as collector of customs of Hawaii. She was appointed to the post by the late President Coolidge and was reappointed by President Hoover.

Mrs. Hyde was born December 12, 1881, at Spring City, Utah, the daughter of Abraham and Nancy Frost Acord. She attended the public schools of Provo and Salt Lake City and was a student at the Brigham Young University. She received a normal degree at the University of Utah in 1883. She was married to Joseph S. Hyde, July 22, 1887. Five children all of whom survive, were born to the couple. They are Jay Hyde, Mrs. Romania Hyde Woolley, Mrs. Golda Hyde Gordon, Orson A. Hyde and Frank W. Hyde.

Mrs. Hyde went to the islands six months ago accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. Gordon. She had been in ill health. Mr. Hyde, contacted by The Tribune late Saturday, had not been informed of his wife's death, neither had any other members of the family prior to receipt of the Tribune report.
