He was married to Lucy Blankenship (1873-1935), the daughter of John Blankenship and -- (Rozier) Blankenship. They were later divorced.
A retired plasterer living at 208 Foster Street, Nashville, Ed was 80 years old when he died at home of a cerebral hemorrhage and alcoholism on October 20, 1955. Burial was the next day in Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison [city, not county].
