Doris Jane Riggin, 73, of Crisfield, died Friday, March 21, 2003, at her home.

Born in Crisfield, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Charlotte Lawson Swift.

She retired from Rubberset Corp. in Crisfield, where she set up production machines. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield, where she was active in various church committees. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and her pinochle club.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, H. Gene Riggin; two sons and their wives, Sonny and Bev Riggin of Salisbury and Steve and Karen Riggin of Crofton, Md.; two brothers, Bob Swift and his wife, Hazel, of Newark, Del., and Bill Swift of West Friendship, Md.; three sisters and their husbands, Faye and John Bell of Linthicum, Md., Ella and Preston Seidel of Newark, and Betty and Bill Boyd of Dover; three grandchildren, Miles Riggin of Salisbury, Elizabeth Pasztor and husband, Gabriel of Salisbury, and Amanda Riggin of Annapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be sent to: McCready Foundation, McCready Hospital, 201 Hall Highway or to Asbury U. M. Church, both of Crisfield, Md. 21817.
