Marilyn Klea Miles Allen, 88, born on December 25, 1927 in Annabella, Utah passed away on December 2, 2016 in Provo, Utah.

She is the daughter of Oral Wilkins Miles and Cora Luella Jackson Miles. Marilyn met her future husband, Douglas Dean Allen in Provo, Utah while studying at Brigham Young University. Marilyn earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University. She married her college sweetheart on March 16, 1951 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Marilyn and Doug raised two sons: Jeffrey Douglas Allen (Leann Bair) and David Miles Allen (Lauri Whipperman). Prior to raising their family, they lived in Yokohama, Japan while Doug served in the US Army. Marilyn and Doug settled down and raised their family in Bountiful, Utah. Marilyn taught kindergarten in Davis County (primarily Adelaide Elementary School) for over 30 years.

Home to Marilyn has always been Bountiful, even though she and Doug were called away to serve LDS missions, once to India and once to the Philippines. In addition to those foreign missions, Marilyn and Doug served several missions at the LDS church office building in Salt Lake City. One of her choicest experiences was driving the church van between the airport and Temple Square. She enjoyed welcoming visitors to the city.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, sister (Coral Deon Miles) and brother (Oral Shirley Miles). She will be missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the LDS Canyon Park Ward chapel, 1190 East Bountiful Hills Drive, Bountiful, Utah Thurs, Dec. 8th, at 10:00 AM. A viewing will precede the services at the same location.
