Sacred to the memory of Marianne Matilda Katherine the faithful and beloved wife of William Weire (late of Launceston in Van Diemen's land) who departed this life the 9th of March 1848 aged 27 Years. Their infant son is also interred here. Blossom and bough lie witherd with one blight.
Companion of my fondest love, how soon thou'rt called away. And must thy fair and lovely form, now moulder and decay. Er'e noon thy morning sun hath set, why did it set so soon. And leave me here to weep for thee, as oft I weep alone.
In affectionate remembrance of William Weire (34 years town clerk of Geelong) born August 12th 1803, died August 17th 1884. Also the daughter of above and Mary Ann Weire aged 11 months and three weeks. Also Elizabeth Mary wife of the above and daughter of John Batman Founder of Melbourne died 27th Jan 1864 aged 35 years and her two infant children who predeceased her.
