DUFFIELD, Va. —
Barbara Jo Berry,
55, of Duffield, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday (Dec. 20, 2008).
She was the daughter of Dudley and Ruth Bledsoe. She was born on Oct. 3, 1953. Barbara was a member of Burke’s Union Primitive Baptist Church. She loved to help anyone that she could. She loved cross stitch needle work and was an avid quilter.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Weatherly Bledsoe; and one sister, Opal Mae.
She is survived by her loving husband, "Johnny" Roy Lee Berry of the home; one son, Jonathan Berry of Carters Valley; a special grandson, Ryan Berry; her father, Dudley Bledsoe of the home; four brothers, H.C. Bledsoe and wife, Billie of Duffield, Va., Robert (Cob) Bledsoe and wife, Bonnie of Blackwater, Va., Ray (Punkin) Bledsoe and wife, Lettia Mae of Kingsport and Fred Bledsoe of Blackwater, Va.; a special sister-in-law, Rose Tipton and husband, Ronnie; a special uncle and aunt, C.P. Bledsoe and wife, Madge; a very special friend, Susie Wallen; two nieces and a nephew, Amanda Grimes, Cammie Bledsoe and Mark Bledsoe; a great-nephew, Jacob Austin; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends today at Oak Hill Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will be anytime at the residence.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Burke’s Union Primitive Baptist Church in Blackwater, Va. with Rev. Roger Trent and Evangelist Kenneth Neeley officiating. Music will be by Eric Lawson.

Graveside services will follow in the Bloomer Cemetery in Blackwater, Va. Pallbearers will be Mark Bledsoe, Presley Bledsoe, Eric Lawson, Jimmy Berry, Loven Livesay, Justin Berry and friends.

The staff of Oak Hill Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations is honored to serve the family of Barbara Jo Bledsoe Berry.
