James Grant "Jim" Christensen, 80, of Richfield, Utah passed away of natural causes on June 1, 2017 at the Richfield Care Center. Jim was born December 3, 1936 to Kenneth Grant and Elva Madsen Christensen in Richfield. He graduated from Richfield High School in 1955 and married his sweetheart, Rosalie Sorensen, on August 15, 1955. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on February 15, 1956. They are parents of seven children and one foster daughter, 36 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Jim worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Richfield for 37 years. He enjoyed gardening, metal detecting, rock collecting, woodworking, hunting and fishing. In his later years, he cared for his elderly father in Richfield.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints his entire life and served diligently in many ward and stake callings. Jim loved the Lord, lived the gospel and exemplified priesthood service for his children. He and Rosalie supported their five sons on LDS missions and attended the temple weddings of all seven of their children.

He is survived by his wife Rosalie, Richfield; children: Debra (Dirk) Whitbeck, Washington Terrace; Paul (Janice) Christensen, Salem; Wayne (Marianne) Christensen, Bountiful; Mark (Shawna) Christensen, Orem; Alan (Becky) Christensen, Manti; Greg (Ashley) Christensen, Heber; son-in-law, Steve Parsons, Santaquin; and their foster daughter, Henrietta Wauneka, Fort Defiance, AZ. He is also survived by his siblings: Donald (Mary) Christensen, Murray; Nella Black, Beaver; Elaine Shupe, Provo; Blane (Sherry) Christensen, Brigham City; Val (Susan) Christensen, Franklinton, NC; and Kathy Christensen, Millcreek.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Parsons; infants Nona Lee Christensen (sister) and Judson Jay Whitbeck (great-grandson); and his brothers-in-law Eldon Black and Curtis Shupe.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Richfield 9th Ward LDS Chapel,159 North 400 West.
