Obituary

William was the second youngest of nine children. Bill, to his oldest friends, "Willie", heard a call from his beloved wife Matilda and has flown away to join her in eternity. Bill's long and event filled life is celebrated and treasured by his daughter Lynda, who lovingly and tirelessly cared for him; son Doug (Barb), who delighted him with four grandchildren Deb (Reathel) Geary, Sherry (Mark) Sloan, Connie (Court) Sandau and Will (Tracey) Ast; and ten great grandchildren Shae, Griffin, Jasper, Katelyn, Aiden. Brianna, Emelia, Tycen, Caleb and Logan. Bill was also cherished by his "kid" brother, Norm (Edythe) Ast; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Edwin Wolfe, Olga Wolfe, Helen Wolfe and Alvin and Erna Wolfe; as well as numerous nephews and nieces, other relatives and his "friends and family" at Queen Victoria Estates, especially Lois, ("Let Me Call You Sweetheart") and Martin Dundas.

Special thanks to Dr. J. S. McMillan and his staff for their loving care of Dad over many years. Thanks as well, to his nurse, Marlynn Swallow, who visited Bill weekly, for her special care and friendship during his last few years.

Dad was an actively involved member at his churches (Trinity and Christ Lutheran). He enjoyed playing pool, curling, golfing and bowling. His greatest joy was time spent with his family, any fun time, and a good game of cards (which to him was a take no prisoners, full body contact sport). Bill was born with mischievous, twinkling eyes. Those waiting to celebrate his arrival on the other side will be thrilled to see this is still evident. We love you, Papa. Enjoy your reunions!

Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in lieu may be made to the donor's church or Senior Charity of the donor's choice.

A CELEBRATION OF PAPA'S LIFE will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 4825 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.

Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (306) 789-8850.
