Lydia S. Kent Buck
July 13, 1964 - May 10, 2017

Lydia Kent Buck, 52, peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 after a long struggle with cancer.

She was born to Charles and Dorothy Kent, their third child, in Deland, FL. In 1989 she married Louis F. Buck Jr and together they had their son Jacob. The marriage ended in divorce but they continued to raise their son together.

Lydia worked in several positions for Florida Power which later became Duke Energy, but settled into the position as scheduler. She worked for the company for 20 years and was a beloved coworker. Lydia was particularly known for her wit, sarcasm, and her love for her family and God.

She is survived by her mother Dorothy; her siblings, Helen, Jeffrey, and Charles Stephen, and her son Jacob. She is predeceased by her father, Charles and granddaughter Lelianna.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 15th at 12:30 pm located at Volusia County Baptist Church in Orange City. Flowers can be sent to Allen-Summerhill funeral home in Deland, Fl.
