Passed Away At The Hospital On Thursday Last
Funeral Services Were Held Sunday
The seafood industry of Crisfield lost one of its old pioneers in that line of endeavor on last Thursday when Mr. D. Quinn Riggin, age 76 years, died from a complication of diseases at the McCready Memorial Hospital.
Although Mr. Riggin had been in ailing health for the past several months, he was able to visit the waterfront most every day in the interest of his seafood business. Mr. Riggin spent his entire life in Crisfield and was a prominent seafood dealer, a line of work which had engaged his attention for several years. He was a christian gentleman of a quiet and unassuming nature, known for his straight forwardness, honesty and integrity. These characteristics won for him a large circle of friends who mourn his loss.
For many years he was affiliated with Asbury M. E. Church, a denomination to which he was devoted and loyal.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Clarence and Herman Riggin, of Crisfield, and four daughters, Mrs. Elmer Nelson, Mrs. Irene Daugherty, Mrs. Grace Dize, of Crisfield, and Miss Ethel Riggin of California.
Funeral services were held from Asbury M. E. Church on last Sunday afternoon at 2:30 P.M., conducted by Rev. J. T. Rowlenson, assisted by Rev. John J. Bunting. Interment was made in Asbury Cemetery.
