Etna M. Conatser, 87

Albany - Etna M. Conatser, 87, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Albany Health & Rehabilitation after a brief illness.

She was born April 25, 1929 in Jamestown, Tennessee, the daughter of Brant and Lydia (Tinch) Atkins. Etna grew up in Jamestown and moved to Muncie in 1950.

Mrs. Conatser was a homemaker most of her life and worked at Pepsi for ten years.

Her church and family were the most important things in her life. She doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and they remember her as a wonderful cook. Etna loved tending to her garden and her flowers. She loved to buy shoes, no matter what the size.

She was a member of Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church.

Etna is survived by three children, Luther "Hoot" Conatser (wife, Karen), Muncie, Genny Limle (husband, Clyde), Muncie, and Billy Conatser (wife, Mary), Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, Doug Conatser (wife, Debbie), Mark Conatser (wife, Angela), Jami Stanley (husband, Eric), Brian Limle (wife, Karen), Lorri Davis (husband, Scott), Kevin Limle (wife, Myra), Lori Segura (husband, Nelson), and Michael Conatser (wife, Angel); four step-grandchildren, Susanne Crotty (husband, Brian), Thomas Weldon, Sean Weldon (wife, Sarah), and Vanessa Weldon; twenty-three great grandchildren; eight great, great grandchildren; one sister, Mallie Jean Penticuff (husband, Porter), Jamestown, TN; two sisters-in-law, Hester Conatser, Muncie, and Phyllis Ipock (husband, J.D.), Jamestown, TN

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Bertha Atkins; her husband, Louie Conatser; two grandsons, Brad Limle and Chris Conatser; two great grandchildren, Katelyn Crotty and Gage Conatser; and nine siblings, Lillie Guffey, Vallie Dunford, Nellie Downs, Alba Winningham, Sena Hall, Otha Atkins, Calvin Atkins, Oscar Atkins, and Pete Atkins.

Friends and family may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, and one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastors James McCowan and Elwood Sluss officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
