Melvin Eisen was born in Missouri, a son of Abe M. Eisen 1893-1964 and Julia Lefkovitz 1896-1945. He had a sister Maxine R. 1918-2019.

His family lived in Kansas City, Missouri where his father owned a grocery store.

He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

Melvin married Ethel Millman, an immigrant from Russia, in 1946 in New York City. They had children Julie Nerrill 1947-?, Jeffery Mark 1951-? and Thomas Jay 1952–2013.

Ethel died in 2004 in Pembroke Pines, Florida where they were living. Melvin later moved to Sun City, Arizona.

His survivors included children Julie (Carl) Schweser and Jeff (Zelda) Eisen; sister Maxine Yukon; five grandchildren; and a grandchild.
