Funeral arrangements for Miss Thelma Mae Darby, 20 years old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Percy W. Darby, 300 Page street, were incomplete late Friday night pending arrival of Mrs. Leo Bochle, an aunt, from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Miss Darby's death early Friday morning followed an illness of three weeks. She had not been in good health for several months but attended the Apple Blossom Festival at Rogers, Ark., April 15 and was forced to her bed a short time afterward. She was never able to leave her home since that time.
Miss Darby was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darby and a prominent member of the younger set. She also was a talented musician. Following her graduation from the Fort Smith high school in 1924 she attended Galloway college at Searcy, Ark. During her year at Galloway Miss Darby specialized in music.
When she became 17, she identified herself with the Rainbow girls of this city and took part in several club functions.
Although no definite funeral hour has been set, Rev. A Norman Evans, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church South, will conduct the service.
Besides her parents Miss Darby is survived by one brother, Billie Darby, three uncles W. O. Hogan, Oklahoma City, Okla., James S. Hogan, Fort Smith, and Edgar Darby, Fort Smith, two aunts, Mrs. Leo Bochle of Salt Lake City and Miss Grace Darby of Fort Smith.
