Woodrow W. "Woody" Kohler, 88, of Red Lion, died at 7:34 p.m. Saturday at York Hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of Miriam L. (Criswell) Kohler. The couple observed their 45th wedding anniversary Aug. 16.

The service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Burg Funeral Home Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Kohler was born Sept. 30, 1910, in Yoe. He was the son of the late Adam and Emma (Barnhart) Kohler.

He was a heat treater at New Era Die in Red Lion, retiring after 23 years of service. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and its Sunday school in Red Lion. He was also a choir member, Sunday school song leader, former member of the administrative board and former communion steward of the church.

Mr. Kohler also is survived by a daughter, Marian L. Smith of Dallastown; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Rae I. Arnold of York; and a niece and nephews. Mr. Kohler was preceded in death by his son, Barrie W. Kohler, who died June 17, 1995.

Officiating at the service will be his pastors, the Rev. Charles W. Salisbury and the Rev. Albert R. Horst.
