Holly Jan Scoby of Houston, TX peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 21, 2006. She was born on Feb. 8, 1966. She graduated from Deer Park High School in 1984 and Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX in 1988. She was a valued employee of Expo Design Center for several years and recently had transferred to the Home Depot Corp,, Human Resources department. Holly enjoyed her work, her family, her friends and her "babies" Cosmo & Ajax. Holly is survived by her father, Dave Scoby: her mother and stepfather, Jan & Tom Addison; her sister and brother-in-law, Elayne & Glen Rust; her nephews, Adam & Chase Rust; and her grandmother, Sammie Nell Craft. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, several close cousins, and many dear friends and fellow employees of the Home Depot Corp. Holly was a member of Lakewood Church, 3700 Southwest Freeway, Houston,TX 77027. A Celebration of Life and Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am. on Saturday, June 3, 2006 in the Lakewood Church Chapel. A graveside service for the family will follow at Grandview Memorial Cemetery in Pasadena, TX. Strong in her Christian faith, Holly courageously battled metastatic colon cancer for four years and seven months always trusting in her God's will. The family sends their deepest appreciation to the kind, caring and wonderful medical staff of M.D. Anderson Hospital. "You will always hold a very special place in our hearts as you did in Holly's heart." In lieu of flowers, if desired, the family respectfully suggests contributions to the YMCA Partners Campaign in Memory of Holly Scoby. These contributions will be used specifically in Holly's name to provide scholarships for Bay Area children to attend horseback riding camp at the YMCA Camp Cullen in Trinity, TX. Holly spent her spring and summer months during her college years working at Camp Cullen and still would reminisce about how much she loved teaching the children horsemanship, leading trail rides and caring for the horses there. The address for any contributions is: E.A. Smith YMCA, 14650 Highway 3, Webster, TX 77598. These donations will be continued by the family on an annual basis so that children from financially challenged families may develop the love of horses that Holly so deeply enjoyed.
