Esther Neva Terwilliger, 101, of Traverse City, went to be with her Lord Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at Grand Traverse Pavilions.
A resident of Traverse City most of her life, Esther was a charter member of Bayview Wesleyan Church, where she was an active member and a faithful servant to her Lord.
Born Feb. 11, 1902, in Lapeer County, Esther was the daughter of Frederick and Mary (Alber) Ross. On June 24, 1924, in Farmington, she married Floyd Terwilliger, who died Dec. 25, 1967.
Surviving is one daughter, June (Herbert) Smith of Acme; three grandchildren, Bennett Russ of Pontiac, Gene (Charlotte) Hicks of Los Angeles and James Hicks of Las Vegas; three stepgrandchildren, Craig Smith of Laguna Beach, Calif., Kent (Becky) Smith of Morton, Ill., and Kurt (Peggy) Smith of Bloomfield Hills; four great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Ross.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with Esther's grandson, the Rev. Kent Smith, officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
