Lillian J. Lorant Ferguson, 93, of Avonmore Homestead Personal Care Home, Avonmore, formerly of Lower Burrell, died Monday (June 30, 2003) at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison.

Born Dec. 5, 1909, in Arnold, she lived there many years before moving to Lower Burrell.

She was a 1927 graduate of Arnold High School.

Mrs. Ferguson worked at Alcoa from 1927 to 1948.

She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Kensington.

She enjoyed bowling and sewing.

Mrs. Ferguson is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter C. Ferguson in 1992; her parents, Peter and Louisa Pilette Lorant; two brothers, Robert and Albert Lorant; and five sisters, Louise Lanfaloni, Irene Brassine, Sylvia Haser, Marie Hawk and Rena VanHorne.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., a family owned and operated funeral home, 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. Her pastor, the Rev. Richard P. Grance, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lower Burrell.
