Son of Mitch Bouyer and Magpie Outside ("On the Ground"). His birth name was Thomas Bouyer.


His father died with General Custer at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. His mother and her two children were taken in by their father's friend, Thomas H. LaForge and his wife, Cherry.


When Cherry died, Thomas LaForge married Magpie Outside and adopted her two children. Thomas' name was changed to "Jim LaForge".
