William A. Origer, 80, of Hastings died peacefully on Dec. 16, 2006 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 11, 1926 in Duluth. He served in the Marine Corps. during World War II. He is preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Katherine Origer; siblings, Katherine Ware, John Origer and Margaret Meagher. Survived by loving wife of 59 years, Marquetta; children, Tim (Geri) Origer, Lee (Susan) Origer, and Patricia (Mike) McDowell; grandchildren, Megan (Jay) Vier, Katie (Pat) Swanson, Sean McDowell, Amber Origer, Sidera Origer, Stacy LaVigne, Chelsea Origer; and great grandson, Charlie William Vier. MEMORIAL MASS:11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. Gathering one hour prior to service in the church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to Mayo Clinic Cancer Research, U of M Heart Research, or the Hospice Foundation of the Florida Suncoast.
