Mrs. Blanche Connally Kline, 88, of Dallas went Home to be with our Lord early Wednesday morning, February 12, at her residence. She was born February 24, 1925 in Floresville, Texas to John Bowden and Lela Wright Connally. She has lived in Dallas for the past 58 years and worked as an executive secretary for Frito-Lay and Lomas and Nettleton. After retiring from Lomas and Nettleton, she worked at Millie's Fashions for 10 years.

Blanche, "Mom", "Mimi", "Aunt B.", will be fondly remembered for her elegant graciousness, beautiful smile, classic style and generous spirit. She loved preparing holiday dinners for her family, working in her yard planting beautiful flowers and sharing her love for music with her grandchildren. She was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother who considered this to be her most important job.

Blanche is survived by her daughter, Janet Faulk of Dallas; son, Duane Kline and wife Neeltje of Grapevine; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jarod Faulk, one sister, Carmen Hicks, and five brothers, Stanford, John (former Governor of Texas), Golfrey, Merrill and Wayne Connally. Blanche was the last surviving member of the Connally siblings.

The visitation is scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 4-6pm and funeral services will be held Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 2pm at Sparkman Hillcrest funeral home in Dallas with Rev. Robert Hasley officiating. Memorials may be made to at www.alz.org/greaterdallas

The Kennedy Assassination

Blanche Connally Kline was at the Trade Mart luncheon awaiting the arrival of her brother, Governor John Connally, and President Kennedy when the assassination took place. When she heard about the assassination, she immediately approached Texas Hwy Patrol Officer, Bobby Nolan (Find A Grave Memorial# 131509360), who was stationed at the Trademart, and asked him to take her to Parkland Hospital to see her brother. Nolan talks about this in his extensive youtube interview recorded before he died. It is mentioned at at 0:45 and Nolan discusses it at 6:40+ in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN9jIAiGNYg

She also recorded an Oral History interview for the 6th Floor Museum in Dallas, February 7, 1998. Like the bulk of their oral history videos, unfortunately, it is not available on youtube - you must go to Dallas to the 6FM to view it.
